This review examined literature on patient preferences for psoriasis treatments to identify key factors influencing decision-making. Analysis of 25 studies revealed five main drivers: efficacy, convenience, safety, quality of life, and cost.
Efficacy—especially long-term results and symptom relief—was the most frequently cited factor, followed by convenience (treatment frequency and administration route) and safety (notably side effects).
Quality of life and cost were less commonly mentioned. Findings emphasise the need to incorporate these factors into shared decision-making to better align treatments with patient values and daily life.
