Patients starting treatment with abemaciclib (ABE) can voluntarily participate in a Patient Support Program (PSP), in which nurses educate over the phone about self-management and management of adverse effects, without including indications regarding dose modifications of the drug.
The most common side effect with ABE is diarrhea.
The objectives were to assess the proportion of patients with advanced breast cancer (ABC) in the PSP who modify or discontinue ABE treatment due to diarrhea, quality of life (QOL), adherence and satisfaction with the PSP.
