Loss of productivity, use of healthcare resources and cost associated with insomnia

Cross-sectional observational study based on an electronic questionnaire aimed at people with sleep problems who meet the criteria for chronic insomnia. The results show that insomnia is an under-diagnosed disease that leads to a loss of productivity and is strongly linked to presenteeism and costs to be paid by the patient. Proper diagnosis and treatment can help reduce the economic impact of insomnia.
