A systematic review of the literature aimed at characterizing the evaluations of patient support programs. This is the first review, to our knowledge, that focuses on programs developed Europe and that followed the definition of the European Medicines Agency (EMA). Our results evidenced the need to standardize the definition of these programs as well as the methodology to evaluate their impact. Especially considering their important in promoting and improving clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction with treatment.
